Stories of Hope

Stories of God's amazing intervention into the lives of these children need to be told.  Why? Because God needs to be honored and people need to be blessed by seeing and knowing that God truly "is the Father to the Fatherless." (Psalm 68:5)

When you read these stories please keep in mind that you could be part of one by helping this Home rescue more orphans from the streets and placing them into a family. There are many more stories waiting to be told. Many more kids praying that their story would become a story of hope.

Below are also stories and updates of the current affairs in the home. Eventually this will develop into an update page. Enjoy!

Carry On
  From Abandon to Safety

A few years ago a three year old little boy by the name of Henoc fell deathly ill.  His parents felt unable to help him and had given up all hope of seeing him well again.  Ashamed they took him to the hospital to die and left him there never to return.

Fortunately he slowly began to recover from his illness but was now alone and abandoned. At the same time a local official who knew about Henoc being left at the hospital was on a visit to the Kinshasa Children's Home where he inquired about the possibility of the KCH  accepting a sickly abandoned little boy.  Pastor Yamapia responded with enthusiasm and soon Henoc joined the family. Henoc is now a healthy excited little guy who attends school regularly with his many brothers and sisters. Pray for Henoc and God's plan for his life.

Everyday Life

Here are a few pics of life in Kinshasa around the home. The children do their chores as they all contribute to being part of the family.

Local Donations

The children at the Home  were very excited as local congregation members donated much needed sets of clothes, toys and socks! (apparently many, many pairs of socks!) This is always exciting as we see the church in Africa mobilized to give from their resources.

A new TV!

This might as well be Christmas morning in the Kinshasa Children's Girls Home as the faces of the girls light up as they open the box with the new donated television. There really isn't much to watch on the local DROC TV station but a television becomes a window into the world. (We are well aware that having a TV in a home can change the dynamics of the home but we are confident that the care givers and staff are able to make those decisions.)
Click on each individual picture to see the wide eyed expressions of the excited children.
